Hawaiian Airlines’ Premium Economy class will soon be a reality. The airline, which was acquired by Alaska Airlines in December 2023, plans to equip its A330-200 aircraft with Premium Economy cabins.
The aircraft will be equipped with this new product by the end of the year. Premium Economy will be available across Hawaiian Airlines’ entire route network, both within and outside the United States.
“It seemed like the perfect time to launch this new middle class, where customers will feel truly pampered and enjoy significant benefits throughout their travel experience,” explained Tara Shimooka, senior public relations manager for the Hawaiian brand, in an interview with Upgraded Points.
These benefits will begin when packing, as passengers will benefit from an increased baggage allowance by being able to check two bags, compared to only one in economy class. Once at the airport, these Premium Class travelers will enjoy priority access for check-in, boarding, and arrival at their destination.
Customers are willing to pay a little more to fly in greater comfort
On board, the layout of the new class will provide significant additional space between each seat, which will be able to recline further. The entertainment system is also affected: passengers will face a larger screen, along with noise-canceling headphones and USB ports.
