The Alaska Airlines Lost and Found service helps passengers recover items or luggage lost during their flights with the U.S. airline.

Please note: There is no single, centralized office. Alaska Airlines only handles items left on board, and each location has its own service.

What to do if you leave an item behind on an Alaska Airlines flight:
– Notify the staff before leaving the airport, if you realize it in time. A counter agent may be able to retrieve the item while the aircraft is still there.
– If you cannot locate your items, fill out this form as soon as possible. The sooner you file a report, the better your chances of recovering your items.
– Be specific. Include the flight number, date, your seat number, and the item’s brand, color, distinguishing features, and serial number if known (e.g., for phones, computers, or headphones).
– Wait for the airline to contact you.
– Provide as much detail as possible about your item(s) and, if possible, include a photo.
Lost or delayed checked baggage:
If you discover upon arrival that your suitcase has not arrived with you, you must report it immediately.
Please note that the general “Lost and Found” office does not handle lost or misplaced luggage. Instead, you must report the incident in person to the baggage office at your arrival airport within 24 hours. Failure to file a report means the airline will not provide any compensation.
You will receive a confirmation email containing a file ID number, which allows you to track the status of the search.
If the luggage is not located within 5 days, the file is automatically transferred to Alaska Airlines’ central baggage department.
The airline states that it continues the search for up to 6 weeks after the travel date.
For the purchase of essential items (such as toiletries or clothing), speak to the agent at the office where you filed your report, as reimbursements are possible (submit your reimbursement request to Alaska Airlines within 21 days of your flight’s arrival date).
A tip for next time: place an identification tag inside your luggage. Alaska Airlines offers a downloadable template on its baggage webpage.
