Before boarding an Alaska Airlines flight, every passenger is required to check in, either online via the airline’s website or mobile app, or upon arrival at the airport and complete the process at the Alaska Airlines check-in counter.

How to check in for an Alaska Airlines flight online
Alaska Airlines online check-in opens 24 hours before the flight. Here are the steps to follow to complete the process and obtain your boarding pass:
– Go to the airline’s website: You must go to www.alaskaair.com, click on “Menu” and then on “Check-in.”
– Enter your login details: Departure airport, 6-digit confirmation code, or 13-digit e-ticket number (both can be found in the email containing your e-ticket).
– Select your seat: During check-in, you can change the seat that was assigned to you by default when you booked your flight.
You can choose a standard seat or a premium seat offering more legroom in Main Cabin Economy.
Alternatively, if you prefer a more comfortable seat away from engine noise, you should choose Main Preferred seats, located at the front of the cabin.
Note that Main Preferred seat selection on Alaska Airlines is free for Atmos Rewards passengers.
If you do not select your seat during check-in, you can do so later (before the check-in deadline) in the “Manage your reservation” section.
– Complete the passenger information: Last name, first name, date of birth, phone number, email address, passport number and expiration date, selected seat…
– Download your boarding pass: This should confirm the successful completion of the process and your check-in for the Alaska Airlines flight. Afterward, you can choose whether to print this document or save it to your smartphone.
– Check in your luggage: Upon arriving at the airport, if you have no checked baggage, you can go directly to the security checkpoint before proceeding to the boarding area. Otherwise, you must go to the Alaska Airlines check-in counter to check your baggage.
Checking in for your Alaska Airlines flight at the airport
Please note that the Alaska Airlines online check-in service may not be available to certain passengers, such as:
– Passengers with reduced mobility
– Passengers traveling in groups
– Passengers traveling with pets.
Check in your flight and baggage at the self-service kiosks
At the airport kiosks, Alaska Airlines passengers can check in for their flight and tag their baggage without needing assistance from an airline agent.
As with online check-in, passengers simply need to enter their booking reference, verify their flight information, and print their boarding pass before proceeding through security.
Baggage Check-in: The Alaska Airlines self-service baggage tag kiosk is the fastest way to check your baggage at the airport.
Travelers simply scan their boarding pass from their smartphone or their online checked-in pass. They then indicate the number of bags to check and follow the instructions to attach the tag to their suitcases.
Once the luggage has been tagged, the passenger must follow the signs to the Alaska Airlines automatic tag drop-off area with their ID/passport and boarding pass.
- Place a luggage tag inside your baggage
Alaska Airlines offers a luggage tag template for download. Fill it out with your baggage information: your name, phone number, destination, booking reference, and baggage ID.
This small tag, which you can attach inside your luggage, helps airline staff locate your suitcase if it is lost during your flight or mistakenly left at the departure airport.
