Barclays Hawaiian Airlines Card: Complete Guide

Barclays has stopped actively promoting the Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard since October 1, 2025, and Bank of America is set to issue all Atmos Rewards cards.

However, no closure date has been announced: the card remains functional, and points are now credited to your Atmos Rewards account. What has changed is how the card is distributed.

• Bank of Hawaii version: It remains available online and on board flights, though Barclays still issues and manages it (Platinum Flyer).

• Alaska Air Group and Bank of America have extended their co-branded card partnership, with the goal of making BofA the sole issuer of all Atmos Rewards cards.

Getting the Barclays Hawaiian Airlines card: where to apply and which bonus to aim for

The available bonus is 70,000 Atmos Rewards points: 60,000 after spending $1,000 within 90 days, plus an additional 10,000 upon reaching $2,000 in total spending within 180 days.

The Barclays Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard has a $99 annual fee and earns 3 points per dollar on Hawaiian and Alaska purchases, 2 points on gas, dining, and groceries, and 1 point on all other purchases.

Ways to apply that still work:

• The Bank of Hawaii webpage, which continues to promote the card.
• Applying on board flights.
• Targeted offers sent by Barclays: some are distributed via email or within the customer portal, without a public link.

For current cardholders. Two targeted promotions run until October 31, 2026: 2,500 points after five purchases with no minimum spend, or 5 points per dollar up to a cap of 2,500 points (equivalent to $500 in spending). These offers can be combined for a total of up to 5,000 points (InsideFlyer).

The merger with Alaska

Points: Each HawaiianMile is converted into one Alaska Mileage Plan point at a 1:1 ratio, and these points do not expire. The conversion therefore results in no change to the nominal value; what changes is what the point can be used to purchase.

Status levels: The former Pualani tiers have been renamed:

Former status

New status
Pualani Gold

Atmos Silver

Pualani Platinum (fewer than 75,000 qualifying miles)

Atmos Gold
Pualani Platinum (75,000 to 99,999)

Atmos Platinum

Pualani Platinum (100,000 and above)

Atmos Titanium

The Barclays account : The card remains usable, and points earned on it are credited as Atmos Rewards. Points can also be transferred for free between linked Atmos accounts, including to a Bank of America Summit card. What remains unknown is the date and method of the transfer to Bank of America.

Credit score : There is no official information regarding this specific scenario. The general rule is that a product conversion within the same bank usually preserves the account’s age. Closing the card and opening a new one elsewhere triggers a credit inquiry and results in the loss of account history. Check with Barclays for confirmation before taking any action.

Earning elite status through spending: Calculating required miles

The Pualani Gold and Platinum status tiers no longer exist under those names; the lineup is now Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium. The Hawaiian card earns 1 status point for every $3 spent, with no cap.

The Silver tier requires 20,000 status points, while Gold requires 40,000.

A prize draw to win Atmos Rewards points

Hawaiian has launched a contest offering over 44 million Atmos Rewards points, running until December 31, 2026. Every transaction made with the Hawaiian Mastercard automatically counts as an entry. Seven weekly winners receive 100,000 points, and one monthly winner takes home a million points. Cardholders residing in Hawaii also receive a 50% bonus on points earned per dollar, capped at 5,000 bonus points.
