A flight attendant working for Delta Air Lines filed a complaint against her airline for assigning flight DL4819 to an experienced pilot.
The incident dates back to February 17, 2025, when flight DL4819, operated by Endeavor Air for Delta Air Lines (a Bombardier CRJ-900LR), connecting New York LaGuardia and Toronto Pearson airports, caused panic among 80 passengers and crew members on board by making a hard landing on Runway 23 at the Canadian airport before the plane flipped upside down.
Flight attendant claims astronomical amount from Delta Air Lines
Flight attendant Vanessa Miles filed a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines this week in a Michigan federal court claiming that in addition to the physical injuries she sustained during the flight, she suffered mental injuries, emotional distress and medical expenses. For these injuries, she is seeking US$75 million from the airline.
An investigation is underway
Following this, Delta Air Lines has simply stated that it fully supports the Transportation Safety Board of Canada’s (TSB) investigation which was opened immediately after the incident.
In their initial report on the incident, TSB investigators stated that an alert was triggered on board less than three seconds before landing indicating that the plane was descending too rapidly.
It remains to be seen what causes will be addressed in the final agreement, which is due to be published in February next year.
