Delta Airlines connects London Heathrow to Johannesburg, code-sharing with Virgin Atlantic

Delta Air Lines will soon offer its passengers a service between London and Johannesburg. The American carrier is taking advantage of its code-share agreement with Virgin Atlantic to launch this route and is offering its customers an exceptional offer to fly to one of South Africa’s splendid destinations from London Heathrow. The inaugural flight is scheduled for August 7th, the date of DAL’s inaugural flight on this route.

In a press release, Delta Airlines announced that “this agreement will be expanded to include another service to Cape Town starting October 13th.”

Bookings for this flight are open on the Delta.com website. Passengers can fly to London Heathrow via any Delta hub and then fly to the South African destination, all in a single booking.

The aircraft will depart daily at 7:40 p.m. from the United Kingdom with an expected arrival in South Africa at 8:40 a.m. (local time).

Virgin Atlantic serves Johannesburg year round with a daily Boeing 787-9 service from its base at Heathrow Airport.

As part of its partnership with DAL, the British carrier will offer its customers flights to more than 200 destinations in the United States via its partner Delta Air Lines’ hubs, such as New York-JFK, Boston, Detroit, and Los Angeles.
