American Airlines will land in Porto in 2027

American Airlines has confirmed its intention to launch a new international route to a European destination.

This will be a transatlantic service connecting Philadelphia to Porto, Portugal, with daily flights. AA states that this new route will launch as part of its 2027 summer schedule.

“Porto is an important gateway to Portugal, one of the historic countries of the European continent,” said Brian Znotins, Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning at American Airlines, in a statement.

To operate its flights to Porto—the second Portuguese destination to join its network, after Lisbon—AA will use its recently added A321XLR, equipped with the latest generation Flagship Suite cabin. This long-haul single-aisle aircraft has a three-class configuration with a capacity of 155 seats, including 12 Premium Economy seats and 20 Flagship Suite seats which offer fully flat seats with privacy doors.
