American Airlines: Flight from London to New York JFK turns back due to technical problem

Due to a technical problem, an American Airlines plane that had just taken off yesterday at 7:00 p.m. from London Heathrow bound for New York JFK was forced to turn around and land in London.

“The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft used on flight AA107 had been in the air for less than an hour when this problem occurred,” the airline explained in a statement, without revealing the source of the problem.

Since Luxair does not have technical assistance in Rome, it was decided to return the plane to Luxembourg rather than send another one to the Eternal City to provide assistance.

This incident, which occurred at an altitude of 31,000 meters, went off without incident, and the passengers who were due to fly to New York were transferred to another aircraft.

The replacement flight took off from the airport in the United Kingdom’s capital at 10:30 p.m. The flight was thus delayed for a mere two hours.
