American Airlines and FIFA have just announced a new partnership for the next FIFA World Cup which will take place in the summer of 2026 in three countries: United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This partnership will therefore be very beneficial for members of AAdvantage, American Airlines’ loyalty program, who, according to the airline, will benefit from priority access to redeem miles for tickets to attend their favorite matches.
It should be noted, however, that access to this service (redeeming miles for airline tickets) is granted on a priority basis based on the passenger’s status in the AAdvantage program.
Members with Executive Platinum or ConciergeKey status will be the first to have the opportunity to purchase tickets using their loyalty points, with access to the ticketing system opening on October 13. They will be followed by members with Platinum or Platinum Pro status, who will be able to obtain their tickets starting October 14.
Finally, access will be extended to all other members of the American Airlines Rewards program starting October 15.
American Airlines also informs its customers that they can also use their AAdvantage miles to book flights to cities hosting tournament matches.
A drawing to win tickets to the World Cup final
Also, as part of its partnership with the FIFA World Cup, American Airlines announced its intention to hold a drawing to select a few lucky winners of tickets to the World Cup final, which will take place on July 11, 2026, in New Jersey.
