American Airlines announces interline partnership with STARLUX Airlines

American Airlines has just signed an interline agreement with STARLUX Airlines to allow the issuance of tickets combining the two airlines on several routes connecting the United States to Taiwan and vice versa, including direct connections to Taipei from New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth…

For Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines : “This codeshare with American Airlines is a prime example of a successful partnership. The opening of routes such as those connecting Taipei to Arizona and Phoenix could allow us to envisage a doubling or even tripling of traffic.”

For his part, Anmol Bhargava, Senior Vice President of Alliances at American Airlines said : “Booking trends are positive. We will soon begin our commercial activities with our partner STARLUX Airlines in a climate of confidence.”

As a reminder, American Airlines does not currently offer any direct flights to Taiwan but plans to launch its first direct route to Taipei from Las Vegas in the first few months of next year.
