Alaska Airlines customers will be offered a new transatlantic flight this summer. Starting May 28, the American carrier will launch a new service connecting its Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) hub to Keflavik (KEF) in Iceland.
Service available all summer long
According to the schedule unveiled by Alaska Airlines for the upcoming summer season, the direct flight between Seattle and Keflavik will operate throughout the summer season, from May 28 to September 7, with one daily flight operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with 161 seats in three cabin configurations: 16 seats in Domestic First, 30 seats in Premium Economy, and 115 seats in Main Cabin.
In its press release, Alaska Airlines announced that it is open to increasing the frequency of its flights on this route depending on demand and load factors.
It is worth noting that a direct flight already exists between Keflavik and Seattle, operated year-round by Icelandair (an Icelandic airline) with three weekly flights.
