An aviation enthusiast since childhood, I follow the evolution of air transport worldwide with great interest. Through Uspassengers.com, I focus on analyzing the latest news from American airlines and all carriers operating to and from the United States: new routes, fleet renewals, inter-company agreements, airport developments, and more.
A United Airlines flight from Chicago O’Hare to Orange County, California, was diverted to Rockford on Sunday after a mechanical problem occurred on the Boeing 737 carrying 125 passengers, pilots, and crew, according to cbsnews.com.
The plane landed safely at Rockford Airport. Passengers were then disembarked before the aircraft was grounded for maintenance. The flight departed later that afternoon for Orange County.
This is the fourth United Airlines flight diversion in the past two months, following a November 16th diversion to St. Louis after an onboard security alert, and two other flights that landed in Dublin, Ireland, and Edinburgh, Scotland, due to technical issues.
