Last Wednesday, Delta Airlines flight DL56 between Salt Lake City and Amsterdam on an Airbus A330-900neo (registration N422DZ) encountered severe turbulence over an area of southwest Wyoming. The incident forced the pilot to make an emergency landing at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, particularly as several passengers on board suffered injuries.

Panic on board, “the anxiety escalated. During the descent, the captain spoke again, he told us there were only six minutes left before impact. He was quite reassuring and he handled the landing well”, said one of the passengers on the flight.
