Alaska Airlines strengthens codeshare agreement with Icelandair

Alaska Airlines and Icelandair have signed a bilateral agreement aimed at offering their passengers the opportunity to combine flights offered by both carriers under a single booking.

According to both operators, this agreement clearly allows them to expand the choice of destinations offered to their customers.

According to Helgi Mar Bjorgvinsson, Head of Partnerships and International Relations at Icelandair “this bilateral agreement is actually an update of a fifteen-year-old codeshare agreement”.

For his part, Brett Catlin, vice president and head of alliances at Alaska Airlines, said: “Our new agreement marks an important milestone in Alaska Airlines’ journey to provide the best connectivity and customer experience to its travelers in Europe. “Our passengers will soon be able to access 29 destinations in Europe, which is just one example of the complementarity of our networks and one of the many future benefits of the strategic agreement with Icelandair.”

The frequent flyer mileage accrual and reciprocal lounge access agreements between Alaska Airlines and Icelandair will remain in effect.
