Severe weather conditions continue to disrupt air travel in the United States. Southwest Airlines was forced to cancel more than 750 flights. The airports at Denver, Chicago Midway, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Las Vegas McCarran, Orlando and Los Angeles were the most impacted.
“We have continued to work diligently to resume operations, focusing on repositioning aircraft and crews to take care of our customers,” the American airline announced in a statement.
Southwest Airlines is aware of the operational difficulties affecting its flight schedule due to several issues, including staff shortages, but when it comes to a problem related to force majeure, the company doesn’t have much to do.
“We are making great progress rescheduling canceled flights, and for passengers who decide to cancel their reservations, we promise to process their refund requests in a timely manner,” she added.
For passengers stranded at the airport, Southwest Airlines encourages them to contact its offices located at various airports for assistance, whether changing their departure date or requesting a refund.
