American Airlines welcomes its first A321XLR

The new A321XLR received by American Airlines is configured with 155 seats divided into three classes: Flagship Suite Business Class, Premium Economy and Main Cabin.

A new long haul single aisle aircraft has just joined the American airline’s fleet. On October 22, the new narrow body aircraft landed at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, American Airlines’ main hub.

This A321XLR is the first of an order of 20 aircraft ordered by the national airline from French aircraft manufacturer Airbus.

AA is banking on this new narrowbody to diversify its long-haul offering. The national airline is preparing to launch several new intercontinental flights, including: Dallas/Fort Worth – Zurich, New York JFK – Milan, Chicago – Berlin, Los Angeles – Seoul Incheon, etc.

A long-haul fleet undergoing a complete overhaul

At the same time, American Airlines is carrying out a complete overhaul of its Boeing 787-9 Premium aircraft as part of its overall fleet modernization program. The first fully refurbished aircraft will return to service in May 2024, including the installation of the new generation of front suites and Premium Economy seats, offering improved passenger comfort.
